Reports from Afghanistan say at least 4 Afghan policemen and 5 civilians have been killed in a near an air attack in the early hours of the morning during a clash with U.S.-led coalition forces. The incident happened in the western province of Farah. In a separate incident in the eastern Paktika province on Saturday night, NATO officials said that their forces had killed 4 other civilians. There were startleness darkness and much confusing confusion when the fighting took place in the early hours of the morning. The police had opened fire in on a joined convey convoy of Afghan national army and foreign troops, believing incorrectly that they were Taliban fighters. On hearing the gunfire, a number of locals had rushed to support the police. Foreign troops called an caught in airstrikes during the clashes, killing several policemen and civilians. In a separate incident, NATO-led forces committed admitted killing at least 4 civilians in the east of the country on Saturday night. A military spokesman said the two motor ships mortar shellshad landed nearly a kilometer from the intended target.
